It is a global cultural festival of lights and gifts; it is an experience of consumerism run rampant for businesses that sees them through the year; it is a holiday and family time, and it is a religious festival that offers hope where there was none. Each has its place and opportunity...
* Christmas is an accumulation of many cultures, traditions and expressions of love and compassion from people around the world.
* For those in the northern hemisphere it is a glimpse of light and hope in the midst of the winter darkness.
* For those living in southern climes it is an exultation of the warmth of mid-summer and the life giving rainy season.
* For us followers of Christ Christmas is a celebration of hope that the Creator of the universe has stepped into our human paths and opened a way to reconciliation and restoration. 'Immanuel' - God with us!
