Dropping by for a visit?

Over the last few weeks there have been  many people coming and going through our home. At times it has seemed like central station yet each interaction has been a blessing and given us strength for our journey through life.
Earlier in the month Evelyn and Bob stopped by for a couple of days enroute to Cape Town. They are friends from Winnipeg. Next Adam (family friend) and wife Karen brought through a group of service adventure youth from the US. It was great to have them here as it felt like they were part of our like family. Other long time friends from our Swaziland days, Ton and Gill, also dropped in for a night on a trip to the big city. It  was great to catch up on their lives and to hear news of the King and his shenanigans.

Given the central position of Johannesburg in the region a lot of air traffic connects through Oliver Tambo International Airport (ORT). Approx 18 1/2 million are processed through the airport on an annual basis. Fortunately we get to see a few of them!

MCC workers and supporters also come through or to the city on a regular basis. Last week Bruno had several opportunities to interact with and orient a youth group from the prairies called Simunye. It is part of an annual connection between western Canada and South Africa. As MCC workers complete their term we like to debrief them before they leave the region. Last week Jon, an engineer working in Mozambique, came by and this week Kenia, a YAMENer from Bolivia will spend some time with us. We are also priveleged when MCC staff and/or their families pay us a visit as Ruth, Jonathan and daughter Hanna did last week returning from Livingstone. Currently Ratidzo from Zimbabwe is staying with us as she attends to some personal matters in the city. Lalst week also saw MCC workers Aaron and Suzanne spend a couple of days at our place enroute to Pietermaritzburg.

So the teapot or French press is always ready and the Ouma rusks never far away. Dropping by for a visit?
