Beauty in the Ordinary

After worshipping at HIS People's in Parktown this morning we headed to Zoo Lake for a picnic. It was a beautiful sunny day - 21C and a reminder of springtime to come. While we sat at the lakeside enjoying our sandwiches we noticed this pair of pigeons cooing and loving each other up.

The male seems to be in estacy in the picture above with his eyes closed while his mate preens him. Then he repeated the gesture. They spent about two hours in close company attending to each other oblivious to the world around them.

It is amazing, if we keep our eyes and our hearts open how we can see the beauty in the simple things of life around us.  Have a week full of surprises at the gift of life!
