Don't just stand there...

This intriguing sign is found in the dining room of the  District Six Guesthouse in Cape Town. The proprietor wanted to make sure all visitors had enough of whatever they needed - particularly food!  The Cape Malay meals served are a gastronomic delight and the fresh fruit salads every morning are enough to carry you through the first half of the day. The food is complimented by lovely rooms, excellent service and a very hospitable ambience.

Surrounded by ancient gum trees and nestled under the ramparts of Table Mountain this is a place to be highly recommended for anyone travelling to Cape Town.. For those who like to 'foot it' is about a thirty minute walk from downtown Long Street and a forty five minute walk from the Victoria and Albert waterfront. Taxi's to the downtown are about ZAR30.

The D6 Guest House clientele boasts many VIP's including Ex-Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his family and many of the struggle heroes. We even saw framed photos of former President Thabo Mbeki on the wall.

On another note:

Celebrations erupted at the V&A Waterfront Friday November 11as Table Mountain was named a New 7 Wonder of Nature following a three year battle in the race to choose the world’s seven most wonderful natural sites.

Table Mountain can now carry the title Official New7Wonder of Nature after hundreds of millions of votes were cast in this global competition.

Table Mountain was named along with the Amazon, Halong Bay, Iguazu Falls, Jeju Island, Komodo and Puerto Princesca Underground River.
